Colonel Jack C. Decker Jr. is the Deputy Wing Commander, 101st Air Refueling Wing, Maine Air National Guard. He is responsible for supporting the full spectrum of command, discipline, training, and morale for a 10-aircraft KC-135 Air Refueling Wing. He assists the Wing Commander by ensuring the combat readiness of 1,160 Airmen stationed in Bangor and South Portland to execute global Expeditionary Operations, Homeland Defense, and Domestic Operations.
Prior to his current assignment, he served as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Director J6, DoD Cyber Defense Command (DCDC), United States Cyber Command, Fort Meade, Maryland. He was the principal advisor to the commander on all matters pertaining to command, control, communications, and computers. He coordinated policy between DoD CIO, USCYBERCOM CIO, and DCDC operations impacting over 3.2M users, 230K cyberspace defenders, and 15K unclassified/classified networks. Previous assignments include: Senior Air Reserve Component (ARC) Advisor Forward, United States Air Force Central Command serving as the principal advisor to Ninth Air Force Commander, Air Expeditionary Wing commanders, and over 5,000 deployed ARC Airmen., Mission Support Group Commander, Wing Inspector General, Logistics Readiness Squadron Commander, Executive Officer to the Adjutant General, and Communications Flight Commander.
Colonel Decker received his commission through the Academy of Military Science in 2003. Prior to commissioning, he was enlisted in the United States Air Force and the Maine Air National Guard.
